About The Position

Freshpet is seeking Truck Drivers to transport pallets of goods and packages from their place of origin to assigned destinations. This position will be located in Hellertown, PA. There are two shift options available: Tuesday – Saturday, 4:00 am – 2:00 pm, or Sunday – Thursday, 4:00 am – 2:00 pm. The hourly base rate is $28.75.

Requirements

Valid Commercial driver’s license (CDL “A”) required.
3 plus years of experience working in a full-time Class A tractor/trailer driving position required.
Clean driving record while operating a personal and /or commercial motor vehicle in the last 3 years.
Self-starter who works well independently.
Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Skilled and confident driver.
Comfortable maneuvering tractor into loading and unloading positions.
Alert, focused and detailed oriented.
Ability to lift to 50 lbs. at a time.
An innate sense of direction.
Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.
Strong verbal communicator.
HSD or GED is required.

Responsibilities

Transport pallets of goods and packages from their place of origin to assigned destinations.
Operate and safely drive a commercial company vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight over 26,000 lbs.
Ensure contents are properly secured inside of truck to prevent breakage or damage.
Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clients.
Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document.
Stay on predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery.
Perform inspections of company vehicle prior to and at the end of the shift.
Keep vehicle clean.
Notify Transportation Manager of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
Track and report working hours.
Adhere to company rules and regulations.
Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in accordance with weather/road conditions.
Make Safety a priority always.
Comply with DOT regulations.
