About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class B CDL Truck Driver in Hanover, Maryland. This is a local driving role delivering HVAC equipment to Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia, with drivers home daily. Drivers operate a 26-foot straight truck, use a pallet jack and lift gate, and handle touch freight. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 5:00 AM start and 40 or more hours per week. Paid training is provided. A Hazmat endorsement must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Drivers earn $28.28 per hour and are paid weekly, with advertised earnings of $1,131 or more per week. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers make safety decisions on the road and receive company support throughout their careers.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A or Class B experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Obtain a Hazmat endorsement within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
