About The Position

UIC Sand and Gravel is seeking a hard-working, reliable truck driver to join our team in Barrow, Alaska. The ideal candidate will have experience with CDL Class A tractor trailers, and heavy equipment. This role involves rig support hauling and gravel sand hauling, with a strong emphasis on safety.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Ability to perform all work tasks in a safe and orderly fashion.
• Ability to perform independently without direct supervision.
• Ability to maintain open and responsive communication with Superintendent.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with vendors, subcontractors, clients, supervisors and coworkers.
• Must be able to sit in the operators seat of equipment and safely reach all pedals, switches, levers, buttons, etc. required to safely operate the equipment (if authorized for that piece of equipment).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CDL Class A tractor trailers.
• Experience with heavy equipment.
• Experience and ability to operate other types of equipment is desired.
• 2 years + experience operating on commercial job site.
• 2 years + experience driving Articulating Dump Trucks.

Responsibilities

• Operate loader, dump truck, forklift, and other heavy equipment as needed.
• Perform daily safety inspections of construction machinery.
• Maintain equipment and safety standards.
• Report any incident, situations or activity that may affect the company's ability to operate safely, ethically, and profitably to the Superintendent.
• All other duties as assigned.
