About The Position
Cevons Environmental Services is Guyana’s leading environmental services provider, offering waste collection, recycling, recovery, transportation, and disposal solutions to commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential clients. We are committed to safety, operational excellence, and environmental responsibility. We are seeking reliable, experienced, and safety-conscious Truck Drivers to join our Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various commercial and heavy-duty vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring timely transportation of materials, and supporting our diverse service operations across municipal, commercial, and industrial sectors.
Requirements
- Valid Heavy-Duty Driver’s License (appropriate class for commercial vehicles).
- Proven experience as a Truck Driver, Heavy-Duty Driver, or similar commercial driving role.
- Clean driving record with a strong commitment to road safety and defensive driving practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including potential overtime or varied shifts depending on operational needs.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and reliable time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in outdoor and fast-paced environments.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in waste management, logistics, or industrial transport is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty trucks and company vehicles safely, efficiently, and in accordance with traffic laws.
- Transport materials, waste, containers, or equipment to and from designated customer and company sites.
- Conduct mandatory daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; promptly report any mechanical defects or maintenance needs.
- Ensure all loads are properly balanced, secured, and transported safely.
- Follow assigned routes, delivery schedules, and company standard operating procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety, occupational health, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of materials when required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic daily upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
