About The Position
Drives and operates a dump truck and/or other designated vehicle to transport various materials and supplies. This position will be expected to work a schedule established by the Department Head. Typical hours will be 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. It is also expected this position will work other hours including nights, weekends and/or holidays as necessary or requested in order to fulfill the City's vision and/or to accomplish departmental goals. Mandatory overtime may be required during certain occasions including, but not limited to times of snow/ice removal.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a manual transmission.
- Class A or B Commercial Driver's License required.
- Requires one year driving a commercial vehicle or closely related experience.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience performing similar duties desired.
- Endorsements are preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Picks up and transports rock, gravel, dirt, stone, sand blacktop and other materials and supplies.
- Dumps rock, gravel, dirt, stone, sand blacktop and other materials and supplies at job site and/or other designated location.
- Plows snow and ice, and dispenses road salt and/or other snow/ice treating materials.
- Drives and operates leaf collection truck.
- Performs manual labor as needed and/or requested.
