About The Position

The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely driving to and from designated locations, verifying loads to shipping papers, and maintaining the electronic logging device (EID). This role involves driving a variety of vehicles, delivering and picking up cylinders and parts, and loading and unloading the vehicle. The driver will prepare receipts for loads picked up, maintain vehicle logs according to regulations, and maintain phone contact with their supervisor for delivery instructions. Additionally, the Truck Driver will perform regular inspections of delivery vehicles, report any maintenance requirements or operational issues to the vehicle maintenance specialist, and maintain professional and friendly relationships with customers. The position also includes assisting with other job-related duties as required and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid commercial class B with air brakes driver license required for some vehicles.
  • Valid medical Department of Transportation card
  • Hi-lo permit.
  • Valid chauffeurs license
  • Good communication skills
  • Good people skills
