About The Position

This is a seasonal position that typically works April – November depending on the schedule with a winter lay-off. The role is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer belly dump and maintaining it properly to transport material to designated locations in a timely manner. The driver will travel up to a 150-mile radius of Sioux City.

Requirements

  • Class A required.
  • Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, including medical card.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Hazmat and tanker endorsements, preferred.
  • Previous truck driving experience, preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor trailer belly dump and maintain properly to transport material to designated location in a timely manner.
  • Use safe work procedures that comply with safety policies and regulations (Federal, state, local and company policies).
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections.
  • Maintain driver logs when applicable.
  • Perform daily maintenance of equipment such as cleaning truck inside and out, greasing, oiling, brakes, lights and any other maintenance instructed to perform.
  • Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment.
  • Clean spilled material/buildup off box, belt, and gates.
  • Verify that gates are closed.
  • Discharge product.
  • Maintain proper information in truck cab pouch.
  • Report information accurately and completely on daily timecards, truck cab information and other needed paperwork.
  • Maintain and support a safe and harassment free work environment.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written).
  • Read maps and navigate to new locations.
  • Work with minimum supervision and recognize matters needing attention and initiate action on that recognition.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and the public.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
