About The Position

This is a seasonal position that typically works April – November depending on the schedule with a winter lay-off. The role is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer belly dump and maintaining it properly to transport material to designated locations in a timely manner. The driver will travel up to a 150-mile radius of Sioux City.

Requirements

Class A required.
Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, including medical card.
Must have an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

Hazmat and tanker endorsements, preferred.
Previous truck driving experience, preferred.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

Operate tractor trailer belly dump and maintain properly to transport material to designated location in a timely manner.
Use safe work procedures that comply with safety policies and regulations (Federal, state, local and company policies).
Perform pre and post trip inspections.
Maintain driver logs when applicable.
Perform daily maintenance of equipment such as cleaning truck inside and out, greasing, oiling, brakes, lights and any other maintenance instructed to perform.
Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment.
Clean spilled material/buildup off box, belt, and gates.
Verify that gates are closed.
Discharge product.
Maintain proper information in truck cab pouch.
Report information accurately and completely on daily timecards, truck cab information and other needed paperwork.
Maintain and support a safe and harassment free work environment.
Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written).
Read maps and navigate to new locations.
Work with minimum supervision and recognize matters needing attention and initiate action on that recognition.
Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and the public.
Perform other duties as assigned.
