About The Position

Rexel USA is seeking a Truck Driver to join their team in Lexington, KY. The Truck Driver is responsible for delivering products to and from customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and company suppliers using a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required). The role involves ensuring deliveries are prepared efficiently, materials are correct and free of damage, and all documentation is completed accurately. Senior Truck Drivers may also train and mentor entry-level drivers. Depending on branch needs, responsibilities may extend to counter sales, order preparation, and receiving/stocking/shipping materials.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire.
  • Must not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years.
  • Must not have any at fault accidents in the past 3 years.
  • Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not to exceed 26,000 GVW.
  • Ability to handle basic issues and problems.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiarity with traffic and driver laws.
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • In lieu of experience, must attend company driver training.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects and complete a daily inspection report.
  • Maintain company vehicle cleanliness, service, and alert supervisor of needed repairs.
  • Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations.
  • Load or unload vehicle, ensuring all material for each order is correct (quantity and type) and free of damage before departure.
  • Assist in preparing orders for delivery.
  • Ensure all appropriate documentation is thoroughly completed at the time of delivery, including customer signature on delivery receipt, packing list, and branch/warehouse manifest.
  • Pick up material returns from customers, inspecting condition, verifying quantities, and catalog numbers.
  • Pick up material from company suppliers.
  • Senior Truck Drivers will participate in the training of entry-level Truck Drivers and provide mentorship and coaching.
  • May be required to perform other job functions within a branch, including counter sales, preparing and filling orders, and/or receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material, and maintaining branch equipment.
