About The Position

APAC-AL, Inc. is seeking a Truck Driver to deliver soils, aggregates, water, and other materials to residential and commercial locations. The driver operates the truck safely and efficiently, performs pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintains the equipment through routine servicing and minor adjustments. Major equipment problems should be referred to the supervisor. The role also involves keeping time and material records, communicating by radio, and working effectively as part of a team. The job duties described are not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

Requirements

• At least one year of related experience.
• Class A.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates.
• Ability to communicate effectively on the radio system.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 10 to 30 pounds.
• Ability to climb, sit and drive, shift gears, cover and uncover loads, change wheels, adjust lugs, and use hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver soils, aggregates, and other materials to residential and commercial locations.
• Load and unload large quantities of water for compaction and/or dust control.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to the truck.
• Maintain the efficient working condition of the equipment by performing minor servicing and maintenance, and refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Keep time and material records.
• Communicate effectively using the radio system and work as a team player.
• Lift or move transported materials as needed.
