About The Position

The Driver is primarily responsible for the safe and accurate delivery of finished products to Vander-Bend Manufacturing customers. The person in this position must be detailed and able to follow directions. This individual acts as a representative of the company and assists customers as required. When not driving, this position assists in preparing materials for next deliveries and or cleanup of vehicle/department as required. The driver is also responsible for other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to communicate in English.
Familiar with Bay Area roads and traffic patterns.
Strapping and securing of materials for transportation.
Must be able to read and understand road maps.
Be able to present a pleasant and professional manner to customers.
Valid California Driver's License.
Current DMV printout.
Successful completion of Forklift Training and Vander-Bend Manufacturing Certification.
Ability to lift 35 pounds routinely.
Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to maneuver and push 500-pound Kan Ban Racks when required.
Endure long periods of sitting.
Ability to climb in and out of High Truck Cabs routinely.

Responsibilities

Will drive a variety of Company owned vehicles.
Receive requests from shipping department or others for pick-ups at customers and suppliers.
Match packing slips against box labels before loading truck for deliveries.
Ensure the safe and accurate delivery of materials to the customer.
Reporting of all discrepancies to the Shipping Manager or Customer Account Managers.
Completes necessary documentation.
Assists in packaging of product.
Notifies Maintenance department or Management to any equipment issues including but not limited to: vehicles, lift trucks, pallet jacks etc.
Load and unload of materials.
Safe use of forklift
