About The Position

The Truck Driver is responsible for operating trucks and vehicles to make deliveries and pickups, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods. This role involves maintaining a professional demeanor, adhering to company policies, and ensuring the safety and maintenance of vehicles and work areas. The driver will represent the company professionally in all interactions and maintain necessary documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years hands-on experience in these or related functions.
  • Minimum two years college or vocational training in this field, or exceptional direct experience.
  • Must have valid licensure for the type of vehicle being operated.
  • Able to manipulate and use CRT/screens, keyboards, mouse/pointing devices, etc., associated with contemporary computers.
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to navigate two flights of stairs without harm.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds unaided.
  • Maintain a valid CDL Class C driver's license for duties performed.

  • Backing trucks in a safe manner.
  • Receiving item list, delivery schedule, release form, invoices, load tags from Shipping Supervisor.
  • Opening and unbarring trucks.
  • Operating forklifts to load trucks as necessary if trained to do so.
  • Ensuring that trucks are loaded properly.
  • Locating customers.
  • Making deliveries.
  • Unloading trucks as required.
  • Reconciling load tag with Bill of Lading.
  • Receiving a customer signature.
  • When making deliveries after hours, always ensuring that the customer will still be open and help will be available to unload the truck if necessary.
  • Making pickups and deliveries and performing inventory duties at the Long Beach, CA facility as needed.
  • Reporting location and status via truck radio or designated communication method on a regular basis.
  • Reporting arrival and departure from each location, and reporting unusual delays or deviations from schedule.
  • Maintaining a daily vehicle log with location, time, and mileage entries made per stop, as well as vehicle maintenance.
  • Representing SupplyOne in a professional and considerate manner at all times.
  • Ensuring professional appearance and that the truck remains in good repair.
  • Performing physical inventory counts as directed by the Shipping Supervisor.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of shipping area: sweep, dispose of trash, etc.
  • Maintaining facility and warehouse areas when assigned to do so.
  • Maintaining vehicles in a safe manner and ensuring that vehicle maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Making sure that vehicles are loaded in a safe manner, all loads are secured, and doors are closed.
  • Checking oil daily, tires, and fuel as needed.
  • Always operating a vehicle in a safe and courteous manner and in accordance with all laws and posted speed limits.
  • Reporting accidents immediately.
  • Rendering immediate medical assistance to others as necessary.
  • Ensuring that trucks are secured at night in the Long Beach, CA yard.
  • No smoking allowed in company vehicles.
  • No unauthorized passengers.
  • No unauthorized drivers at any time.
