About The Position
This is a full-time, regular position focused on highway maintenance and construction. Responsibilities include operating various equipment and performing general labor tasks to ensure the upkeep and safety of roadways.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Truck driving certificate and/or three to five years related experience.
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license with CDL (proper endorsements).
- Adequate insurance as required by County Policy.
Responsibilities
- Hauling gravel, blacktop, fill, culverts, and other highway materials.
- Maintaining bridges.
- Continued litter pick up.
- Cutting brush along road right of way.
- Flagging/signing and emergency sign repair.
- Assisting mechanics, machinery maintenance workers, and miscellaneous equipment and maintenance operators with repairs.
- Performing any other related highway maintenance and construction work as required.
- Plowing snow.
- Spreading salt and sand.
- Grading shoulders.
- Cleaning culverts.
- Patching roads.
- Cutting brush.
- Painting/maintaining guard rails.
- Putting up and removing snow fence.
- Hauling gravel, sand, blacktop, general labor on construction projects.
- Making minor equipment repairs.
