About The Position

Sprague is seeking a Truck Driver to join the Lawrence Operations team to deliver petroleum products to our customers via heavy commercial vehicle in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut). Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements
  • Ability to pass DOT physical exam.
  • 5 years’ experience driving and delivering petroleum products.
  • Valid TWIC Card
  • Ability to use basic mathematics including addition and subtraction.
  • Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with customers and fellow employees.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexibility to work in in a 24/7 - 365 day a year operation that includes day and night shifts

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver petroleum products from location to location via heavy commercial vehicle
  • Load petroleum products onto the vehicle which will involve climbing ladders, walking on top of vehicle and moving oil chutes.
  • Determine safe tank fill level by converting measurements from stick, veeder root or gauge and convert into gallons with use of tank chart.
  • Off load petroleum products at customer locations which may require climbing ladders, walking on top of vehicle and/or carrying/pulling a hose.
  • Reconcile truck shipping and loading documents including DOT documents (i.e timesheets and pre-trip inspection sheets, computing gallons loaded and unloaded and balances on the unit).
  • Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections on truck/tractor and on trailer before operation.
  • Responsible for daily maintenance of vehicle to remain in proper and safe working order.
