ABC Recycling Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Truck Driver to operate our trucks hauling scrap metal to and from different locations to our Fort St John, BC location. Occasionally, you may need to haul material to and from other ABC locations and partner companies. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record along with experience operating roll-off trucks, self-loading cranes such as hi-abs, and body jobs. The ability to complete daily logs and reports and carry out the instructions is also essential.

Requirements

  • Must have valid Class 1 license with air brakes.
  • 3-4 years’ of experience is required.
  • The ability to complete daily logs and reports and carry out the instructions is also essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with roll-offs, body jobs and dump trucks preferred.
  • Experience with self-loading cranes or Hiab is a definite asset.
  • The ability to operate a thumb & bucket to occasionally self load off site is a definite asset.
  • Prior experience in scrap metal recycling or demolition would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Performs pre/post-trip inspections of the vehicle assigned to drive.
  • Communicates with customers in a professional manner.
  • Carries out general safety practices of a commercial driver.
  • Follows guidelines for safe load securement.
  • Carries out instructions from Dispatch in a timely and professional manner.
