About The Position

The Truck Driver/Yard operates company vehicles, specifically trucks (yard spotters), to pick up and move storage trailers in and out of shipping docks and other buildings on the property. This role may require loading and unloading trailers with a forklift, as needed. Responsibilities include cleaning, servicing, and maintaining the truck, and performing minor maintenance as necessary. The driver operates under detailed instructions and reports any schedule changes or issues to the supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of short trip driving
• CDL, and forklift certification
• Capability to drive trucks equipped with air brakes
• Ability to communicate clearly and promptly
• Accident-free driving record
• Basic computer skills
• Twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and climbing will be done hourly
• Regular and Reliable Attendance
• Reading
• Writing
• Visual Acuity
• Ascend/Descend Stairways and Platforms with Heights of up to 50+ feet
• Standing for 12 hours
• Walking
• Bending
• Twisting
• Reaching
• Pushing
• Pulling
• Lifting/Carrying up to 30 pounds (higher weights require a two-person lift)

Responsibilities

• Safely drive company owned trucks
• Move trailers, as directed by members of the management team
• Perform daily housekeeping of the tractor
• Maintain accurate inventory of all trailers and their locations
• Grease landing gears and doors
• Report defective equipment immediately to supervisor
• Manage and maintain paperwork
• Ensure environmental compliance, including spill containment
• Raw material inventory
• Run landing gear on trucks
• Transport materials throughout the plant using a forklift
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
