About The Position

Semper Valens Solutions is looking for a Truck Driver Supervisor III to support our team in Ft. Belvoir, VA. This role involves operating large government vehicles, transporting and operating heavy machinery, performing maintenance and repairs, ensuring safety and compliance, maintaining records, providing operational support, planning and coordinating equipment moves, and maintaining work areas.

Requirements

  • Must have Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DOD Clearance
  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with applicable endorsements (HAZMAT required) such Tanker, or Air Brakes, based on assigned vehicle requirements.
  • CDL with Hazmat endorsement, forklift operator certification, skid steer certification, and bucket loader certification; possess current OSHA 10 hour completion certificate
  • Requires 5 years of documented commercial heavy vehicle driving experience, preferably with vocational, construction, public works, or government vehicles.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, lift and move heavy items often exceeding 50 lbs., perform equipment-related tasks, and work in adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate large government vehicles, including dump trucks, tractor-trailers, water trucks, heavy equipment haulers, and related specialized commercial vehicles across varying terrains and traffic conditions.
  • Serve as a driver and equipment operator; safely load, unload, secure, transport, and position heavy machinery and equipment such as bulldozers, pavers, excavators, skid steers, bucket loaders, and other public works equipment.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections, perform routine preventive maintenance, complete truck and equipment repairs as needed, and report mechanical malfunctions.
  • Follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements, state traffic laws, DOT inspection standards, and agency-specific safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate daily logbooks, mileage records, vehicle inspection reports, cargo manifests, maintenance records, and other required documentation.
  • Support office and furniture moves, personnel transportation, snow removal operations, and snow equipment maintenance.
  • Plan, coordinate, and move equipment to meet customer needs; advise on driver scheduling and new equipment purchases.
  • Maintain supply areas, tool areas, and assigned workspaces in an organized and service-ready condition.
