About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Salt Lake City, UT — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a competitive salary of $1799 or more per week, with pay on a weekly basis. Drivers can expect to earn $0.62 per mile for single trailer miles, covering 2000 - 2400 miles per week, with additional pay for double miles. Paid training and a loyalty bonus of $1250 at 6 months and $1250 at 1 year are provided. The schedule is Sunday - Friday or Monday - Saturday, with start times between 4:00 AM - 6:00 AM. Sunday routes dispatch in the afternoons, and flexibility is required. This is a SOLO delivery position to UT, ID, NV, AZ, CO, WY, Western NE, MT, with regional routes requiring 3-4 nights per week on the road. The tractor type is a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia (Day Cabs & Sleepers), and trailer types include Rocky Mountain Set 48' Trailer with Pup Trailer or a Super Set, 48' with a 42'; all Swing doors, or 48' & 53' Dry Vans with Swing doors. The freight is No Touch – Supplies and Beverages. A Doubles Endorsement with 9 months of experience is required, and Hazmat & Doubles are required at the time of interview. Winter driving experience is also a must. Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance. Company Drivers fuel up at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• Doubles Endorsement with 9 months Experience
• Hazmat & Doubles Required at time of interview
• Must have winter driving experience

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
