About The Position

CHS is looking for a Truck Driver/Operations Specialist to join their team in Gettysburg. The majority of the work will be performing operations work at the fertilizer and grain sites, as well as delivering product to and from customers as needed. The general schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, daytime hours, with extensive overtime opportunities in the spring and fall. CHS will help the right candidate obtain a CDL for the role. Candidates must be willing to obtain a CDL within 6 months of starting the position.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Trucking Operations
• Must meet minimum age requirement
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends
• Ability to lift 75 lbs
• Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs and bins, and into back of trailer
• Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card
• Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements preferred
• Valid Class A CDL preferred
• Agriculture background preferred
• Customer service experience preferred
• Bulk liquid, Pressure trailer, or Forklift experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Carry out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently.
• Prepare trucks for loading/unloading.
• Load and unload agricultural inputs using machinery or equipment.
• Conduct and record repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and maintain inventory quality.
• Deliver products safely and professionally.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations including hours of service.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Perform grounds and warehouse maintenance.
• Report safety or customer issues promptly.
• Maintain strong safety culture.
• Perform other assigned duties
