About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Part Time Non CDL Truck Driver in Bunkie, LA — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service. The driver will deliver SOLO within an 80-mile radius of Alexandria, LA, on a local route and return home daily. The tractor type is a Sprinter Van, and the equipment used includes Rolling Carts. Ryder will provide training on all necessary equipment. The freight is US Mail, which is considered 'touch' freight. Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance. Company drivers fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• Candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
