About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver in Columbus, OH — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers an average weekly pay of $963 for 42+ hours per week. Drivers will be paid weekly and will receive $0.37 per mile and $13.00 per stop. Paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday – Friday with no weekends, and a start time between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM. The delivery radius is 80 miles from Columbus, OH, and drivers will be home daily. The truck type is a Box Truck (16', 22', & 26') and will be equipped with a Pallet Jack, Lift Gate & Hand Truck. Freight is touch freight, specifically auto parts. Ryder trucks are well-maintained, safe, 36 months or newer, with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Ryder also provides benefits such as Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days, PTO starting Day 1 (up to 80 hours accrued in the first year), uniform, cell phone, and boot allowance. Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• Candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
