About The Position

Ryder is hiring a CDL Class A Truck Driver in Fayetteville, NC — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a competitive salary of $1025 - $1219 or more per week, with an hourly pay of $26.30 + $4.98/hr Stipend for approximately 39 hours per week. The schedule is Monday - Saturday with a start time of 2:30 PM. Ryder provides paid training and offers a local route within a 150-mile radius of Fayetteville, NC, delivering SOLO. The tractor type is a Straight Truck 26', and the freight is touch freight (US Mail). Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance. Drivers fuel up at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide. Ryder also offers a program to help Owner Operators switch to Company Employee Drivers.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• A secondary background screen - Federal Level 2 conducted by the USPS to allow access to premises and/or to provide contractual services
• Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959, unless there is a legal exemption

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
