About The Position
This is a local truck driver position where the driver will be home every night. The role involves driving a truck to and from warehouses, loading and unloading finished goods and packaging, receiving incoming raw materials, and moving bulk supplied raw materials. The driver will also perform duties in accordance with handling and storage procedures, properly store and keep records of regrind and globs, and assist in the Production Department when needed. The position requires adherence to plant safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum high school education, or equivalent, and 2 to 5 years related experience
- CDL A driver’s license, no restrictions
- Minimum of 1 year experience transporting, hooking up/ off a 53’ box trailer
- Understanding of plant safety rules and regulations, particularly the Hazard Communication program
- Computer skills
- Current fork truck certification
Responsibilities
- Check stock inventory physically and update into system to validate that restocking is in order.
- Drives truck to and from warehouses
- Loads and unloads finished goods and packaging
- Receives incoming raw materials and draws samples
- Moves bulk supplied raw materials from railcars to silo storage
- Performs duties in accordance with the Handling, Storage QOP
- Properly stores and keeps records of regrind and globs
- Assists in Production Department when needed
- Performs other duties required by the QMS, as assigned
- Conducts duties according to plant safety policies and procedures
