Truck Driver - Local Class A Hiring Event 8/19 - Penske Logistics
About The Position
Penske Logistics is hiring local Class A CDL Truck Drivers for an exciting opportunity. Drivers will deliver palletized groceries to local grocery stores. Pallet breakdown is not required. This position offers a 4 or 5-day work week with an 11 PM start time. Drivers will operate late model, Penske Truck Leasing trucks with best-in-class specifications designed for comfort and safety, equipped with inward and outward facing in-cab cameras. Penske is a stable, nationwide company known for its excellent equipment, great management, clear communication, and a fantastic safety record. They offer training opportunities and the possibility of relocation to new cities. Most driving positions offer home daily.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL required
- Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
- Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
- 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
- 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
- Complete Penske employment application
- Submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history)
- Submit to a drug screening
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- The associate must be able to see and hear
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg

Responsibilities
- Deliver palletized groceries to local grocery stores
- Legally operate a motor vehicle
- Safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area
- Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
- Work the required schedule and at the specific location required
- Accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others
