About The Position

The truck driver is responsible for safe travel to and from the job sites they are sent to. A truck driver is also responsible for gathering onsite materials, band lumber loads, strapping down loads, and making sure the load they are hauling arrives safely to the job site and is responsible for driving defensively and safely at all times. This position reports to the Truck Boss/Dispatcher and to the Foreman on each job site. The driver must obey all laws. This is a Safety Sensitive position. Job site's in Northern Nevada and Northern California.

Requirements

  • Possess the ability to follow instructions as directed by a dispatcher/foreman/superintendent.
  • Possess the ability to drive the truck safely to and from job sites as well as on the job sites.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 hour Certified
  • High school diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Two years' equivalent combination or related experience or education
  • 18 years or older
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb/balance, stoop, kneel or crawl on uneven ground, reach with hands/arms, lift and carry fifty (50) pounds, use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Ability to see clearly at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
  • Ability to observe an area that can be seen up and/or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point (peripheral vision)
  • Ability to judge distance and spatial relationships (depth perception)
  • Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus (ability to adjust focus).
  • Ability to obtain information by listening, talking, seeing.
  • Ability to read and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to be aware of your position and the workers around you and to be aware of possible hazards approaching.
