About The Position

This position is for a Truck Driver II at DeRoyal, responsible for operating either a straight truck or a combination vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 26,000 pounds or greater. The primary duty involves transporting raw materials and finished goods between various intercompany locations. The role requires adherence to DOT regulations, including maintaining driver logs and possessing a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) and Medical Examiner’s Certificate. The driver must also pass a DOT physical and controlled substance test. Beyond driving, the role includes inspecting the vehicle for safe operation at the start of each shift, exercising care with company equipment, and demonstrating caution and courtesy on public roads. Communication with a supervisor via telephone or radio is essential. Additionally, the driver will assist in loading and unloading materials using equipment like pallet jacks and fork trucks, and will be responsible for securing cargo with blocks and ropes during transit.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License, Class A.
• Be able to pass a DOT physical and controlled substance test.
• Must possess a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate per DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Transport intercompany materials, products and equipment to various locations, as assigned.
• Exercise reasonable care with company equipment.
• Utilize extreme caution and courtesy on public roads.
• Inspect vehicle for safe operation at beginning of every shift.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Maintain telephone and/or radio contact with Supervisor or assigned personnel.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials by utilizing a pallet jack, fork truck, etc.
• Position blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
