Drives a GVW truck weighing 26,001 pounds or more to transport materials to and from specified destinations, drives the Roll-off truck to transport trash in the compactor, and open-tops containers to and from the waste disposal sites. This role is responsible for safe vehicle operations, driving, and crew safety at all times. The driver will prepare donation receipts at house pick-ups or miscellaneous deliveries, identify unusable material, and advise donors. They will load and unload the vehicle using a hand truck or dolly, and operate the lift gate safely. Coordination with the truck helper and other crew members is essential for loading, weight distribution, and space utilization. The driver will secure items to prevent damage during transit and maintain a truck log according to regulations. Daily vehicle inspections, reporting unsafe conditions, and maintaining radio contact with dispatch are also key responsibilities. Familiarity with Oahu streets and locations is required, along with immediate notification of the office in case of emergencies. The role may involve operating other lift trucks and vehicles if certified, and maintaining clean outside areas. The employee must conduct work safely, utilize protective clothing and equipment, and adhere to all company and safety policies.
