Truck Driver I (Regular)

About The Position

Operates a truck primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise and donations from donation centers, Goodwill stores and facilities, businesses, or private residences. The role safeguards and handles donations and company property with care, assists donors when needed, and follows safety procedures and company policies. The position pays $22.51–$25.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 6 months of industrial vehicle driving experience.
Valid California Class C Driver’s License.
Driving record acceptable under Goodwill’s insurance company standards.

Nice To Haves

High school degree or GED.
One year of industrial vehicle driving experience.
Basic computer skills and ability to operate a GPS tracking system.

Responsibilities

Safeguard donations and company property from damage and theft, and treat them with respect and care.
Assist donors when present and necessary.
Read maps, use navigational tools such as Teletrac/GPS, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
Maintain Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRS) and daily Trip Sheets in accordance with state and federal laws and company procedures.
Provide basic direction and redirection to an assigned Truck Helper.
Safely operate 20–26-foot bobtail trucks and complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Immediately report supply needs, equipment needs or issues, and vehicle mechanical problems to Dispatch or a Transportation Management member.
Safely and efficiently load and unload trucks, vehicles, containers, and trailers, by hand or using a hand truck, lift gate, or pallet jack.
Maintain communication with Dispatch by calling at each stop and at scheduled times throughout the day.
Use and respond appropriately to Teletrac messages.
Pad, stack, and secure items on the truck to prevent damage during transit.
Follow all safety procedures and policies, and immediately report safety concerns to on-site management or the immediate supervisor.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed or assigned.
