About The Position

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking highly motivated and qualified applicants for the unique position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This role involves delivering and returning vehicles to Penske locations and customers. The primary responsibility is moving box trucks up to 26 feet, and for CDL Class A drivers, it includes tractor and trailer movement. The position may also involve assisting the service department with parts and equipment delivery. This is a casual/on-call part-time truck driving job, ideal for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers looking for supplemental income, with work hours ranging from 0 to 25 hours per week based on business needs.

Requirements

• Licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A driver
• Must have Class A license (for certain shifts/tasks)

Responsibilities

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of Penske location or customer locations
• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, report to location manager if any issues are found
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
