Truck Driver, Class A Local Heavy Haul, Flatbed (On-Call)
About The Position
QSL Transport is seeking a Class A Truck Driver for local heavy haul, flatbed, on-call positions. This role involves supporting specialized customer projects with flexible, project-based oversize work. Drivers will work with state-of-the-art equipment and gain experience in specialized heavy haul operations. The operations are focused across Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan, primarily on local routes with most drivers returning home the same day. The work involves flatbed, RGN, or Step Deck trailers, handling oversize and specialized cargo projects. The schedule is based on project and operational needs, with hours varying week to week.
Requirements
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for oversize heavy haul transportation.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oversized heavy haul transportation.
- Strong safety record and commitment to compliance.
- Ability to handle irregular routes within the Midwest region.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with permits, escorts, and oversize routing.
Responsibilities
- Hauling heavy equipment, over dimensional loads, and wind turbines.
- Operating flatbed, RGN, or Step Deck trailers for oversize and specialized cargo projects.
- Handling irregular routes within the Midwest region (Indiana, Illinois, Michigan).
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Working on-call based on project and operational needs.
