About The Position

Ryder is seeking new CDL graduates for their Driver Development Program in Princeton, IN. This program offers 8 weeks of paid training focused on backing, close quarter maneuvers, and practice runs with experienced facilitators. Drivers will gain hands-on experience from industry instructors. The position offers a weekly guarantee of $1050, with pay per mile, per stop, and per drop/hook. The schedule and start times are flexible, with AM and PM shifts available. Ryder emphasizes transparency in pay and route details. Deliveries are SOLO to OH, TN, IN, MO, KY, with the route being local and home daily. The tractor is a Day Cab, and the trailer is a 53’ Dry Van. Freight is No Touch Auto Parts, and the company provides company-paid scale bypass. Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 roadside maintenance and nationwide fueling facilities. Ryder also offers a program to assist Owner Operators switching to Company Employee Drivers and a driver referral bonus program with unlimited bonuses for hired drivers. Requirements

  • 9 months or less of CDL driving experience
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder background and a Motor Vehicle Registration check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding the checking in and out of freight
  • Perform other duties as assigned
