About The Position
Penske Logistics is hiring CDL Class A Truck Drivers for multiple positions, including Home Daily, Part Time, and Layover roles. This is an exciting opportunity to join a stable, nationwide company known for its excellent equipment, management, and safety record. Drivers will be responsible for delivering products to customers and distribution centers, with opportunities for both touch freight and drop and hook. The company emphasizes customer service and building relationships with accounts. Drivers will represent Penske and its clients, often driving branded trucks and wearing client uniforms. Penske offers extensive training opportunities and the possibility of relocation to different cities due to its nationwide presence.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL required
- Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
- Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
- 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
- 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
- Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required
- This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required
- Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others
Responsibilities
- Delivering products to customers and distribution centers
- Touch freight and drop and hook positions available
- Maintain professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers
- Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
- Legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area
