About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Byhalia, Mississippi — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a minimum weekly guarantee of $1657.64, with pay based on solo miles ($0.65 per mile with 1800 miles per week), solo stops ($15.00 per stop with 12-18 stops per week), per diem ($50.00 per night with 4 nights per week), and touch freight ($0.15 per piece with 1000 pieces per week). The schedule allows drivers to be home for resets, with a variable start time based on Hours of Service. The delivery area includes AL, AR, FL, KY, MS, LA, TN, IN, MO, and KS, with potential travel to other states. Drivers will operate an assigned sleeper unit tractor (36 months or newer) pulling a Dry Van trailer, handling touch freight (tires). Ryder provides 24/7 roadside maintenance and access to over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide.

Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Over the road and high touch freight experience required
