About The Position

Ryder is hiring a part-time Class A CDL Truck Driver based in Houston, TX. The role involves solo deliveries to TX, LA, MS, AR, and OK, utilizing Day Cab and Sleeper tractors (manual transmission required) and 48'-53' Dry Van trailers with lift gates. Drivers will handle automotive parts, which involves touch freight, and will use electric pallet jacks and lift gates. The schedule varies, with dispatch times typically between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Ryder emphasizes driver safety and provides uniforms and a boot allowance. Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
Must have 12 Months of CDL A experience driving
Hazmat endorsement at time of interview
Must have 9-12 Months Hazmat Experience
Route delivery experience required
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Must be able to drive a manual transmission
