About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Orlando, Florida — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a weekly guarantee of $1350 per week, with daily pay of $184.52. Solo miles are paid at $0.27 per mile, and solo stops are paid at $5.19 per stop. A yearly tenure bonus of $1200 is paid quarterly. Pay increases after 90 days, and paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday with no weekends, starting at 6:00 am. This is a local route with home daily, delivering SOLO to Florida. The tractor type is a Day Cab and can accept automatic restrictions. The trailer type is a Flatbed (48', 53') and requires 1 year of Flatbed experience. Freight involves load securement only, including strap and tarp, and drop and hook loads. A Doubles Endorsement is preferred.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• 1 year of Flatbed experience
• Must have 1 year of Flatbed experience

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
