About The Position

This role involves receiving delivery tickets, loading trucks, driving to job sites, and unloading materials. The driver is responsible for ensuring loads are properly secured, obtaining signatures or warehouse scans upon delivery, and handling inbound and outbound orders. The position requires operating powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining equipment, and keeping maintenance records up to date. The driver will also complete delivery logs accurately, follow designated routes and time schedules, and ensure trucks are loaded properly, safely, and legally. Adherence to DOT regulations and safety standards is crucial, as is the immediate reporting of defects, accidents, and violations. The role includes tracking and reporting working hours, assisting with month-end physical inventories and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining good housekeeping skills. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • A CDL Class A with Air Brakes requirement.
  • High school diploma, GED or Technical Trade.
  • Able to lift up to 80 pounds.

  • One to two years of material handling and/or delivery experience in the building products industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report defects, accidents, and violations immediately.
  • Track and report working hours.
  • Assist with month-end physical inventories, and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Other duties as assigned as needed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping skills.
