About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver based in Groveport, Ohio. The role pays $25.50 per hour, with overtime after 40 hours and a $1,340 weekly guarantee. Drivers receive $50 per night in per diem and stay in Ryder-booked hotels on overnight routes. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting around 6:00 a.m., with 40 or more hours per week. Paid training is provided, and a loyalty bonus pays $1,000 at six months and another $1,000 at one year. Drivers deliver solo to Florida and locations throughout the Eastern United States and may be away from home up to 85% of the time. Equipment includes a mix of sleeper tractors with 53-foot trailers and 26-foot straight trucks. Ryder will train drivers on the equipment needed for the job. Freight is HVAC and involves touch freight or driver assistance. Equipment used includes a manual pallet jack and lift gate. Ryder describes its trucks as well-maintained and safe, 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers make safety decisions, and the company states that their jobs are protected when doing so. Uniforms, a cell phone allowance, and a boot allowance are provided. The position includes medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days, PTO beginning on the first day, a 401(k) rollover option with company match after one year, paid maternity leave subject to eligibility criteria, and employee discounts.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: nine months within the past three years, or two years within the last five years, or five years within the last ten years.
Have one year of dry van experience.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities
