About The Position

Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Yard Truck Driver. This position offers competitive pay, a shutdown bonus, sign-on bonus, and a safety bonus. The schedule is Monday - Friday with Saturdays as needed, and requires flexibility with AM and PM shifts. Ryder emphasizes transparency regarding pay and route details. This local, home-daily route involves no-touch auto parts freight using a day cab yard dog tractor and a 53’ dry van trailer. Strong backing skills are required. Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 roadside maintenance and nationwide fueling facilities.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• Strong Backing Skills Required

Responsibilities

• Safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads
• Compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records
• Other tasks as assigned
