About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Houston, TX, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position involves SOLO regional deliveries to TX, LA, MS, AR, OK. The driver will operate a Day Cab or Sleeper tractor with a 48'-53' Dry Van trailer equipped with a Lift Gate. Freight is touch freight, specifically Automotive Parts. The schedule is Tuesday - Saturday with 2 consecutive days off each week, and 1-2 layovers per week. Dispatch times are between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Ryder provides paid training and offers a sign-on bonus of $2000, paid out over 30 and 90 days. Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
Must have 12 Months of CDL A experience driving
Hazmat Endorsement - At Time of Interview
Must have 9-12 Months Hazmat Experience
Route delivery experience required
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Nice To Haves

Ability to drive a manual transmission
