About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A Shuttle CDL Truck Driver in York, Pennsylvania. The role delivers solo on a shuttle route to York, PA, operating a day-cab tractor and 53-foot dry van or skate trailers. Freight consists of assembled motorcycles and is no-touch. Ryder provides training on the equipment needed for the role. Drivers use well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

The position pays $25.38 per hour, with 40 or more hours per week and weekly pay of $1,050 or more. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ryder offers medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days; PTO accrual beginning on Day 1; uniforms and cell phone and boot allowances; a 401(k) rollover option and company match after one year; paid maternity leave subject to eligibility criteria; employee discounts; and driver referral bonuses.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
