About The Position

Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver at Ryder in Lakewood WA. This position offers a weekly pay of $1350, with an hourly rate of $31.00 for an average of 40 hours per week. Additionally, drivers receive $40.00 per night for per diem pay, with 2-3 nights per week. Paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 6:00 AM. Ryder emphasizes transparency regarding pay and route details. Deliveries are SOLO to Canada, WA, and OR. A passport is optional but preferred. The route is regional, utilizing a Sleeper Cab tractor and a 53' Dry Van trailer. Ryder will train on all necessary equipment. Freight involves touching windows. Snow driving and chaining experience are required. Trucks are 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 facilities nationwide. Paid Personal Time Off starts on Day 1, with 80 hours accrued in the first year, and unused vacation time is paid out at the hourly rate. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance begin after 30 days. Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• Must have snow driving & chaining experience

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
