About The Position

Immediate opening in Walnut Creek, CA for a Regional Class A CDL Truck Driver. Ryder is looking for the right Driver to join their team. They offer the option to buy the truck for drivers looking to switch from Owner Operator to Company Driver. Ryder Drivers are paid weekly. Drivers on this account earn $2100 or more weekly, with the top 10% earning over $120k+/yr. The position offers $28.00 per hour base pay, plus an additional $1 for every 3 certifications/endorsements. Overtime is paid after 40 hours. Drivers can expect 40+ hours per week. Per diem pay is $50.00 per night for overnight routes, with booked hotel or sleeper provided. Paid travel is also included. A tenure bonus pays $1000 each year of service. Paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday - Friday, with flexibility required. Trucks are three years or newer. Ryder Drivers service the route, not the truck, and have 24/7 roadside maintenance. Drivers deliver SOLO to the Western 11 States. The route is Regional OTR. Tractor types include day cab or sleeper, and straight truck. Trailer types include Dry Van, Reefer, and Flatbed in sizes 28’, 48', and 53’. Equipment includes an Electric Pallet Jack. Experience required is 6-9 months for general experience and 3 months for Doubles. Drivers must be able to accept automatic restrictions. Freight is a combination of touch and no-touch. Ryder emphasizes carrier transparency and offers competitive pay structures. They provide medical, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days. PTO is 80 hours in the first year, starting Day 1, which can be used or paid out. Uniforms, cell phone, and boot allowance are provided. Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
