About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Harvard, IL, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. Drivers on this account earn $1630 or more Weekly. The position involves 50 or more hours per week, with solo miles paid at $0.60 per mile (approx. 2000 miles/week) and solo stops paid at $26.00 per stop (approx. 15 stops/week). A per diem of $40.00 per night is provided for 1-2 overnights per week, with routes including Ryder booked hotels. Paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday – Friday or Tuesday - Saturday, with AM/PM shifts available. A loyalty bonus of $2500 is paid at 6 months and another $2500 at 1 year. The regional routes cover IL, WI, IA, OH, MI, IN, KS, NE, MN, ND, SD & KY. Equipment includes Day Cab tractors, Dry Van trailers (31'-53'), and Electric & Manual Pallet Jacks, with all necessary equipment training provided by Ryder. Freight involves touch delivery of hardware supplies. A Hazmat endorsement is required within 90 days of hire, with Ryder reimbursing costs and providing training. Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance, and company drivers can fuel at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide. Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performs other duties as assigned
