About The Position
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Valencia, CA — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. Ryder Employees who Drive on this account earn $2287 or more Weekly. Ryder Drivers are Paid Weekly. Hourly Pay: $31.00 Per Hour. Hours Per Week: 55 - 60 hours per week. Per Diem Pay: $50.00 per night - Out 2 to 3 weeks. Paid Training. Schedule: Monday – Friday. Start Time: 4:00 AM. We know choosing a driving career is a big decision. Tractor Type: Sleeper Cab. Trailer Type: Pup Trailer 28', Dry Van 53'. Equipment: Hand Truck, J-Bar, Door Hand Truck, Liftgate. Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful. Freight: Heavy Touch – Glass Doors and Mirrors. Must have snow driving experience. Must have mountain driving experience. Must have flatbed experience. Endorsements: Hazmat - Within 90 Days of Hire. Must have Tanker, and Doubles and Triples. Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide. Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
- Must have snow driving experience
- Must have mountain driving experience
- Must have flatbed experience
- Must have Tanker, and Doubles and Triples endorsements
Nice To Haves
- Hazmat endorsement (within 90 days of hire)
Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
- Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
- Maintaining accurate records and logs
- Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
- Performs other duties as assigned
