About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Part Time Class A CDL Truck Driver in Eagan, MN — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers an average weekly pay of $935, with an hourly rate of $31.34 plus a $6.16 Health & Wellness Stipend. Drivers can expect to work approximately 24 hours per week, with paid training scheduled for Fridays through Sundays, and a start time between 3:00 am and 9:00 am. The role involves delivering SOLO within a 150-mile radius of Eagan, MN, returning home daily. The primary freight is US Mail, utilizing a 53’ Dry Van trailer and equipment such as a Pallet Jack & Rolling Carts. Ryder provides well-maintained, safe trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling support. Drivers are empowered to make safety decisions, and their jobs are protected. Ryder also offers a 401(k) with company match after 1 year and 12 weeks of paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility). Additional requirements for this account include a secondary background screen by the USPS and Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959. Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • A secondary background screen - Federal Level 2 conducted by the USPS
  • Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959, unless there is a legal exemption

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performs other duties as assigned
