About The Position
The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is seeking a Truck Driver 2 to join the Maintenance and Operations Division (MOD) in Medical Lake, WA. This role offers the opportunity to advance your truck driving career alongside a dedicated team. The shift is Monday-Friday from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Requirements
- Work indoors and outdoors with all tools and equipment relevant to the transportation trade.
- Drive and operate a variety of vehicles and equipment such as trucks, vans, forklifts, etc.
- Perform the physical requirements of this position.
- Work around potentially hazardous chemicals such as gasoline, diesel, and contaminated laundry.
- Possess a CDL class A or B license with passenger endorsement and no air brake restriction.
- Drivers with no restrictions on their Class B CDL with a P-1 Passenger Endorsement with no Air-Brake restriction up to 26,000 GVW.
- Valid driver's license free from serious traffic violations.
- One year of experience operating commercial class vehicles of at least 18,000 GVW and/or transporting passengers.
- One year as a Truck Driver 1 for Washington State will substitute for the experience requirement.
Responsibilities
- Drive and operate medium to large trucks, special vehicles, large vehicles, and large delivery vans.
- Pick up and deliver various supplies, equipment, and furniture using a forklift or hand dolly.
- Operate a garbage truck to pick up refuse containers.
- Assist in the collection and transporting of recycled materials.
- Clean the exterior and interior of vehicles, including vacuuming.
- Transport clients and patients.
- Deliver food and laundry.
