Truck and Trailer Inspection Technician
About The Position
Palmetto Yacht Management is seeking an innovative, results-driven Mechanic / Technician to take ownership of Truck and Trailer Pre / Post-Trip Equipment Inspections. This critical function supports the company's role as a trusted partner in safely moving multi-million dollar luxury yachts along the Eastern US. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, high-performing, mechanically inclined individual capable of ensuring 100% DOT compliance and working with a team dedicated to maintaining specialized Marine Transportation Equipment. Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Mechanic / Technician in a shop environment.
- Demonstrated experience in Diagnostic and Repair Procedures.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Responsibilities
- Performing in-depth, detail-oriented inspections and assisting with various maintenance procedures on a fleet of RAM 5500 Trucks and Custom Built Trailers to minimize unscheduled downtime and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Performing Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI) and services on specialized trailers and equipment.
- Testing and inspecting vehicles after repair to ensure proper functionality and safe operation.
- Utilizing all tools of the trade, including diagnostic equipment, hydraulic lifts, air tools, and power tools effectively and safely.
- Conducting Truck and Trailer diagnostics to identify mechanical or electrical issues.
- Executing repairs on Disc / Drum Brakes, Suspension Components, 12V Electrical Systems, Hydraulics, and General Trailer Systems.
- Completing detailed and accurate Work Orders using Fleetio Fleet Management Software.
- Maintaining a Safe, Clean, and Organized Shop Environment, adhering to all DOT and OSHA safety guidelines.
