About The Position
Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Utility Tree Trimmer to join their passionate team of utility line clearance professionals. Your office will be outdoors, and you will get a new view every day! This role involves performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. You will climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems, prune treetops, repair damaged trees, remove broken limbs, and apply knowledge of tree identification and industry pruning guidelines. You will also maintain and operate tools and equipment, and work as an active crew member supporting the ground crew and foreperson.
Requirements
- Love of the outdoors
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
- Line clearance experience or other related tree work
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
- ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
Responsibilities
- Climb Trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
- Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers
- Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal
- Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
- Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
- Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
- Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson
