About The Position

This position involves learning to climb trees and perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. The role includes tree identification, pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, installing cables, bracing, lightning protection systems, and assisting in the removal of hazardous trees. The trainee will operate as a member of a tree crew, progressively learning new skills and properly maintaining, preparing, and operating tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. The work environment is outdoors with a new view each day.

Requirements

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire

Nice To Haves

• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
