About The Position

The Trimmer B (TB) is a skilled climber or trimmer at a mid-level position contributing to either a conventional crew or a bucket crew. The Trimmer B is responsible for performing most aerial tasks, excluding the most challenging tree removals or overhang removals. As a Trimmer B, you will support your team by prioritizing safety as a core value and upholding all safety measures. You will demonstrate trustworthiness and responsibility in all job-related activities. You will possess a comprehensive understanding of proper pruning techniques, including natural and directional pruning. You will possess all the requirements for the Climber C classification. You will demonstrate expertise in climbing trees near energized lines and performing various maintenance tasks, except for the most difficult ones. You will safely remove overhangs with suitable assistance and conduct routine pruning around open wire secondary and primary electrical conductors. You will have the ability to safely remove most trees that present a danger to owner facilities. You will possess a solid working knowledge of chipper, split-dump, chain saws, and bucket equipment (if applicable). You will be familiar with procedures for maintaining excellent customer relations. If assigned to a bucket crew, it is required to possess a solid understanding of bucket operations. You will be able to acquire the necessary skills for effectively utilizing the bucket and hydraulic circular saw to accomplish various tree-related tasks within the equipment's limitations. You will readily join storm restoration efforts in times of need.

Requirements

Minimum 1+ year of relevant experience.
Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
Valid driver’s license.
Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.
Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
Willing to work over-time when requested.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
Capable of working at heights and/or confined spaces.
Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.
Able to read/write and communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual (Spanish / English) a plus.
A Commercial Driver’s License is strongly preferred.

Capable of receiving and following directions.
Dutifully follows established Safety Rules and Company Policy.
