The Alberta Human Rights Commission works with Albertans to promote awareness of, and appreciation for, human rights and diversity. Its overall goal is to develop inclusive communities in which all Albertans can participate in the social, economic, and cultural life of the province without discrimination. The Alberta Human Rights Act establishes the Alberta Human Rights Commission to carry out functions under the Act. The Commission is an independent Commission created by the Government of Alberta. The Commission has a two-fold mandate: to foster equality and to reduce discrimination. It fulfills this mandate through public education and community initiatives, resolution and settlement of complaints of discrimination, and human rights tribunal hearings. Are you a detail-oriented legal professional who thrives on research, analysis, and supporting fair decision-making? Join the Alberta Human Rights Commission as a Tribunal Legal Assistant and play a key role in supporting the Tribunal’s mandate to foster equality and reduce discrimination. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful human rights work while helping ensure Tribunal processes are fair, efficient, and legally sound. Reporting to the Chief of the Commission and Tribunals, you will play an integral role in advancing the Alberta Human Rights Commission's mandate by supporting fair, informed, and effective Tribunal processes. Working closely with Tribunal Legal Counsel and the Tribunal Office, you will apply your legal research, analytical, and organizational expertise to support complex human rights matters, prepare legal materials, and contribute to the consistency, accuracy, and procedural integrity of Tribunal proceedings. You will also help strengthen organizational knowledge through the development of legal resources, templates, and tools that support operational excellence across the Tribunal.
